Big increase in the number of million pound homes recently marketed and sold in the Sidcup area
Recently we have noted a substantial interest in larger homes, particularly Edwardian and Victorian properties, with demand exceeding supply and demand now coming from two directions – local buyers up sizing but also buyers moving out from inner London looking for more value for their money.
Sidcup represents exceptional value compared to other London boroughs and with the area's wide range of schools and good transport links the sale of property in £1,000,000 to £1,500,000 range has increased substantially. The supply of large local period homes is also being affected by the demolition of a number over the past few years to make way for modern apartments and retirement homes.
According to Rightmove figures between 2012- 2013 there were no properties marketed within 1 mile radius of central Sidcup with a marketing price £1,000,000 or above. In the same range during the last year we are now into double figures and we expect this trend to continue with the increasing demand for large family homes within easy access of central London.
We are in no doubt properties achieving £1,000,000 plus in Sidcup will be far more common in the future and the gap between inner London property prices and Sidcup will reduce further over the coming years.
